Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Our Work

The Impalas have pledged to elevate and support teammates who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and as LGBTQIA+ through listening, learning, and having authentic conversations. The Board of Directors includes a new position as of 2021, the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion who oversees our on-going DEI efforts and progress.

Additionally, we are working towards improving equity and inclusion in the greater running community. In February, we co-led a 2.23 mile community run at Kezar Stadium with the Anti Racist Run Club to celebrate the life of Ahmaud Arbery and raise money for The Ahmaud Arbery Foundation. In June, we added a non-binary division to Stow Lake Stampede and donated proceeds to Back on my Feet.

We continue to learn about and engage in ways to better support all of our teammates and the communities in which we run.
