We’re not just about running fast. We’re also about developing all levels of runners and about giving back to the sport and the community.

No effort exemplifies this more than our contributions to the Bay Area Breast Cancer Network. We've raised thousands of dollars by auctioning off member-donated goods and services at our Holiday party. In addition we match individual member contributions for a total donation typically around $2500 each year! And we don’t stop there...

We encourage members to volunteer at local breast cancer research fundraising events like the Peak Hike for Breast Cancer and Breast Cancer 3-day Walk.

And if that weren’t enough, many of our members are active in coaching and mentoring for Team in Training (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) and Joints in Motion (Arthritis Foundation) to help other athletes reach their goals while raising funds for a good cause. Others have provided coaching to 3rd through 5th grade girls in the Girls on the Run program or helped make Golden Gate park a safer place to run by spearheading efforts for more lighting and police patrols.

We offer scholarship programs to encourage high school and college runners to continue running after graduation. We also volunteer at races throughout the year to support the local running community. And as a USATF Elite Development Team, we support the efforts of aspiring elite athletes who train with us.

It’s important for us to be visible out there, not just winning, but giving to the sport and the community in large ways that matter.
